The Pension Resource Institute (PRI) is offering its retirement plan compliance resource, RetirementAdvantage, to LPL advisers at a 30% discounted price through LPL’s Vendor Affinity Program.
RetirementAdvantage includes investment fiduciary and retirement plan consulting agreements for Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) 3(21) and 3(38) services, as well as Form ADV supplements for plan- and participant-level services. It also includes guidelines on compliance procedures for retirement plans and disclosures for setting up or rolling money into an individual retirement account (IRA).
PRI’s team of ERISA attorneys and regulatory specialists will also be on hand to assist advisers with serving sponsor clients and/or running their practice. PRI notes that it updates its RetirementAdvantage materials on a continual basis to reflect developments in laws, regulations and best practices. Separate from RetirementAdvantage, PRI also offers an Advisor Resource Center where advisers can receive custom and on-demand training and find resources to help educate their clients in turn.
Alluding to the new fiduciary rule from the Department of Labor (DOL), PRI Chief Executive Officer Jason Roberts says, “Advisers’ retirement plan, IRA rollover and even basic IRA businesses are about to experience a shake-up as regulators zero in with enhanced examination and enforcement resources. They are looking for disclosures, policies and procedures and training specific to serving tax-qualified accounts.”
LPL’s Vendor Affinity Program now includes nearly 60 vendors, including PIEtech Inc., a provider of financial planning software MoneyGuidePro, and Advisor Launchpad, an end-to-end digital marketing program. When LPL first launched its Vendor Affinity Program in July 2015, it consisted of more than 50 vendors, including Morningstar, S&P Capital IQ, McAfee, Malwarebytes, FedEx, Staples and Avis.
